    Ingredients

    Turkey Patties

    • 1 pound ground turkey
    • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

    Instructions

    Preparing the Turkey Patties

    1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.Tip: Avoid over-mixing to keep the patties tender.
    2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

    Cooking the Turkey Patties

    1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    2. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).Tip: If you prefer, you can also grill the patties over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes on each side until cooked through.

    Assembling the Burgers

    1. Toast the burger buns in the skillet, on the grill, or in a toaster until lightly browned.
    2. Spread mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup on the bottom bun.
    3. Place the cooked turkey patty on the bun.
    4. Top with lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, sliced red onions, avocado slices, and sliced cheese (if using).
    5. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.

    For added flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the turkey patty mixture.
