    • Red onion slices
    • Pickles

    Instructions

    Preparing the Pork Patties

    1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, smoked paprika, and the beaten egg. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.Tip: Avoid over-mixing to keep the patties tender.
    2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

    Cooking the Pork Patties

    1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.Tip: You can also cook the patties on a grill preheated to medium-high heat.
    2. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C). If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

    Assembling the Burgers

    1. Toast the burger buns in the skillet, on the grill, or in a toaster until lightly browned.
    2. Spread ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on the bottom bun.
    3. Place the cooked patty on the bun, then top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, and pickles.
    4. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.

    Tips and Tricks

    Choosing the Right Ground Pork

For juicy and flavorful burgers, use ground pork with a fat content of at least 15-20%. This ensures the burgers remain moist and flavorful.

    Adding Extra Flavor

For added flavor, consider mixing in a tablespoon of your favorite BBQ sauce or a teaspoon of chopped fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary into the pork mixture.

    Keeping the Burgers Juicy

Avoid pressing down on the patties with a spatula while cooking, as this can squeeze out the juices and make the burgers dry.

    Toppings and Variations

Feel free to customize your burgers with additional toppings such as bacon, avocado, sautéed mushrooms, or different types of cheese like Swiss or blue cheese.

    Storing Leftovers

Store any leftover cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through. You can also freeze the cooked patties for up to 3 months.
