    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • ½ teaspoon paprika
    • ½ teaspoon oregano
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 cup tomato sauce
    • ½ cup beef broth
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    Tacos

    • 12 small corn or flour tortillas
    • 1 cup shredded lettuce
    • 1 cup diced tomatoes
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • ½ cup sour cream
    • ½ cup salsa
    • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
    • Lime wedges for serving

    Instructions

    Preparing the Beef Filling

    1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
    3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.Tip: Drain any excess fat from the skillet after the beef is cooked to avoid a greasy filling.
    4. Stir in the ground cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to toast the spices.
    5. Add the tomato sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.
    6. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has thickened.

    Assembling the Tacos

    1. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or wrap them in foil and heat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes.Tip: For a softer tortilla, microwave them wrapped in a damp paper towel for 20-30 seconds.
    2. Spoon the beef filling onto each tortilla.
    3. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, salsa, and chopped cilantro.
    4. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.

    Tips and Tricks

    Adding Extra Flavor

For added flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika or chipotle powder to the beef filling. This will give your tacos a smoky, spicy kick.

    Customizing Your Tacos

Feel free to customize your tacos with additional toppings such as guacamole, pickled jalapeños, or sliced radishes.

    Storing Leftovers

Store any leftover beef filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through. The filling can also be frozen for up to 3 months.

    Making Homemade Tortillas

For a truly authentic experience, consider making your own tortillas. Homemade tortillas are fresher and more flavorful than store-bought ones.
